How I Learned to Love Canada

by Perry D Foster
For a long time I did not like Canadian history. Ironically, I ended up teaching it. I was a Social Studies teacher and teaching history was part of my job, but I did it begrudgingly. I found Canadian history dull and, unlike some of my colleagues, had very little enthusiasm for it. Compared to European history, with its colourful narratives and “Captains and Kings” approach, Canadian history seemed dry and uneventful. I was wrong. Canadian history is fascinating and interesting. I have grown to love it, and here are the reasons why.  Which Canada? The Canada I am talking about […]

What Ails the C.B.C.?

What is wrong with the C.B.C.? Once watched by most of us, it is now viewed by only a small percentage of Canadians and is propped up by federal funds to the tune of hundreds of million dollars. It is so biased that watching it has become painful. What went wrong with our national broadcaster? Not Your Grandfather’s C.B.C.  It’s important to realize that today’s C.B.C. bears no resemblance to the C.B.C. of yesteryear. A lot of us remember that C.B.C. Isn’t language beautiful, and hasn’t it inspired the people who came before us? Yes. All true. Language should be all these things and has been in the past, but nowadays it has been twisted into a political weapon. The far left and radical liberal progressives have taken over our language, and they are using buzz words and labels to restructure society and silence people.  One of the most effective words they are using is […]

DEI Is Not a Faith

A dangerous and mistaken belief system is being embraced by millions. It is known as DEI. For those who don’t know, DEI stands for Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. Some people, such as Jordan B. Peterson and Gad Saad, refer to it as DIE, which may be a more appropriate title in the end, but most people refer to it as DEI. What is it, how did it arise, and how should we respond to it?  Sources of DEI DEI grew out of a variety of influences. Among these were radical left-wing politics, progressivism, the social justice movement, “wokeism” and a host of other causes. DEI, however, is […]
