It Didn’t Happen That Way

One of the worst aspects of the “Woke” social revolution is the distortion of history. Most people understand this, even if their knowledge of history is not great. This is especially true if they have lived through an historic period, perhaps in their childhood or youth, and it is portrayed differently on the silver screen or in a book. They know. You can often hear them saying “What?…It didn’t happen that way!” Their anger is understandable. History shouldn’t be distorted. It is wrong to do so, especially for political purposes. So what, you ask, are some examples ?  Stick to […]

Conservaphobia

by Perry D Foster
A new kind of bigotry has entered the world. For the purpose of this post I’ll call it “Conservaphobia.” It’s the only term I can think of to describe it. Like all prejudices, it is illogical, intolerant and contemptible. The suffix “phobia” denotes an irrational fear, but Conservaphobia is more than that. It is a deep seated irrational hatred of Conservatives. The far left and the “woke” mob hate Conservatives because we exist and because we disagree with progressive left wing thinking. That’s all the reason they need.  Pathological and Unreasonable Conservaphobia is different from other prejudices. There is a […]

The R Word

by Perry D Foster
Some of us remember a time when people used the “N” word. Today everyone understands it to be a racial slur. Respectful people don’t use it. If you do, you run the risk of being suspended, fired or worse. Just ask Wendy Mesley of the C.B.C. who retired early because she referenced the word during a meeting. She didn’t call anyone the N word mind you, she just mentioned it. Using the N word can end your career and your personal and professional life. Now a different word has taken its place: the R word. A New Linguistic Bomb I’m talking […]

Cancelling British Columbia?

by Perry D Foster
Cancel culture is a terrible thing. It’s no good to claim, as the left does, that it doesn’t exist. That is often their answer to criticism “It doesn’t exist” or “It isn’t so,” as if denying something makes it so. But we know that cancel culture does exist. It’s not the only thing eating away at our rights and freedoms, but it is probably the most potent. There are others, like critical race theory, woke culture and political correctness. They are all damaging our culture, but cancel culture is the worst. Knowing this, you may be asking yourself who their […]

The Real Bigots

by Perry D Foster
Bigotry is returning to our world. For a while it seemed as though we might overcome it and realize Martin Luther King’s dream that we would judge people by the “content of their character” rather than the “colour of their skin.” That sentiment now seems to have fallen away. We are more divided than ever. What happened?  Identity Politics Identity politics happened. A few decades ago our ideas about what was noble and good began to change. To some degree we lost the concept of objective morality. Along with it went other important ideas such as good citizenship and “civic […]

Operation Extinction

by Perry D Foster
I first realized North American politics had changed during the Obama era. George W. Bush had been an unpopular president. It was clear that America wanted change. Along came Barrack Obama who captured the presidency and initiated a social revolution. But along with that came a political perspective that could only be described as sinister. I remember hearing a news item stating that an Obama advisor had said now was the time to destroy the Republicans and remove conservative thought from America forever.  Not Fair Play I was shocked. I had grown up in a different world. No one sought to […]
