Remembering Betty Bond
By Reed Elley.
Freedom Defence Canada and social conservatives across the nation lost a huge supporter in Early February. After a prolonged battle with lung cancer, treasurer and long time board member, Betty Bond, passed away. I knew Betty for 27 years, and worked with her in many capacities, first in the Conservative Party of Canada and more recently as the treasurer and membership director of Freedom Defence Canada. Many of you will remember her as the lively, petite red haired lady who collected your donations, fees and memberships at our events. She was a tireless worker for the causes she believed in, and to which the many of the rest of us have dedicated our lives. She had a small hobby farm in Crofton B.C. and worked just as tirelessly there as well.
For years I made a weekly visit to her home where I regularly bought farm fresh eggs from her. Betty and I always travelled to events together. She arrived early each time because she hated to be late for anything. I was with her family on the night she died, and her homecoming was very peaceful. Rest from your labours Betty. You have already received the commendation of “Well done you good and faithful servant.” Enter into the joy of being in the presence of your Lord.
If you would like to donate to Freedom Defence Canada in memory of Betty you can do so by sending a cheque to our new membership director and treasurer Leslie Szeler at

Farewell Betty. You will be missed by all of us. It will be so much different without your great sense of humour and love of life. You are home at last!
Betty will really be missed. I have sent a donation in her memory.
